Judging A Book By Its Cover?

Lots of blogs out there host weekly memes and other bloggers participate - while I am a relatively new book blogger, I am still learning and navigating my way through them.

That being said, "Follow My Blog" hosted by parajunkee.com asks the weekly question,

"Do you judge a book by its cover?"

For me, the answer to that would be - YES! I am so guilty of this, but honestly I am not sure it is something to even feel guilty about...Below are some of the best covers in my opinion of course.

  1. I am definitely guilty of that, too!

I've heared lots of good things about Matched, and this is the first time I've seen the cover. I'm adding it to my to-read list now! I'm Following. :)

I hope you stop by and check out my blog.

  3. Matched and Hush, Hush are two great covers - sadly, for me at least, they were examples of why a great cover can sometimes by a bad thing - both books fell short of my expectations.

  4. I'm guilty of it too, but learned the hard way to never buy a book based solely on the cover. I'm a new follower! My FF is at Coffee Table Reviews

  5. Those sure are some stunning covers! I absolutely love Matched's!

I'm also guilty of this, but the cover is only what gets my attention in the first place. It's the storyline that makes the final decision. :)

  6. Absolutely! But it's the title I rely on most. I just started Lady in Waiting by Susan Meissner because I loved the idea of waiting for your life to start and it tells two stories at once, like my blog befriendingforty.blogspot.com

  7. I think we can all agree that even the most beautiful book cover can't sell a book if the writing's not there. Book cover art may, at best, help steer me in the book's direction (especially if I'm in a book store) but it's not going to hypnotize me into buying it right then and there.

I expound on all the marketing qualities of a good book. Just follow me back to my book blog - http://www.howardsherman.net

    Thank God it's Follow Friday!?
