First, there is the Book Blogger Hop hosted by crazy-for-books.com, another great book blog to check out...her question this week is:
How and where do you get your books? Do you buy them or go to the library? Is there a certain website that you use to bookswap?
To be honest, most of my books I buy, but that is because I LOVE owning books. There is something magical that happens when you look over at a bookshelf and see all those titles, all those colors...I love it. To be more realistic, we have a young family and I find myself shopping the bargain bins almost every trip now, and it makes it great that B & N and Amazon both have online bargain bins...I got 9 books for $28 the other day, can't beat that. The only ones I buy now are titles that I REALLY want.
I also do utilize the library...I am excited to try the ebooks because my county's library does echeck-outs :) And hopefully this will help me not to have to buy so many books in the future!
Friday's are also Follow Friday over at parajunkee.com and while I am not that into paranormal young adult lit, her blog is awesome :) This week's question is:
What do I do when I am not reading?
ENDS TODAY!
Have a great weekend, and HAPPY READING!

I wish I could buy all my books in paperback or hardcover but alas I have no more room in my house so I get them on my Kindle.

Isn't it funny how you think TV is such a big part of your life until you stop watching and find that the world doesn't end? I've only recently figured this out. Although I've just swapped it for blogging :)

I love buying my books as well!! I'm a book addict! I love going to Borders too. Practically the only store I shop at--thankfully my closest Borders didn't close! Whew!! I'm even a Plus Rewards member and the coupons and other benefits are awesome!!

Hope you are able to catch up on your sleep soon! I love the bargain bin at my local Books-A-Million! Unfortunately, my wallet doesn't like it lol. I've also been doing a lot of book shopping at goodwill. Sometimes you'd be amazed at what you can find there. Old follower :)

ReplyDeleteI love your answers!
I love to own books too...and I hate giving them away...as much as it annoys my husband. He hates the thought of us ever having to move...what with about 5,000 books in our home...
ReplyDeleteHere is my FF!
Beautiful blog!

I'm a new follower. I do a little bit of everything. I buy paperbacks, look for books at yard sales, borrow from the library and have a subscription to a lending library for paperbacks. My newest: I am downloading books to my new kindle. At Amazon you can get many free books as well as buy the newest releases.
ReplyDeleteI don't watch much TV either. I so rather read. Good luck getting those little guys to sleep.
ReplyDeleteGood reading ~ Escape by Fiction :)
I’m seeing a pattern of book acquisition here. After all, there are just so many places to get books and so many different ways to read them.
ReplyDeleteIt’s hard to beat the library for price and selection but it’s even harder to beat the convenience of browsing BN or Amazon from a Nook or Kindle, hitting a button and reading the book you picked in about sixty seconds.
As usual, my answer to this week’s Book Blogger Hop question is all over the map. Hop on over and read my multipart answer – http://www.howardsherman.net

Hopping through. House cleaning is no fun. I wish I had a maid. I've been better about cleaning lately, but it's still no fun.

A mom's job is never done! Hi! Just stopping by. Following you from Follow My Book Blog Friday Blog Hop. Would love a visit and a follow back on my blog: http://blog.writerslairbooks.com. Thanks! Nice to meet you!
ReplyDeleteI also love owning hardcover books. It is indeed a great feeling seeing all those books on the bookshelf. But I must admit that e-books have advantages as well. I like reading on my Kindle especially when I'm on my way to work because it's much easier to carry it. Moreover I love the fact that I can download any book I want anytime, anywhere from my favorite website: all you can books.
ReplyDeleteGreat blog!
